Review: dissonance. by Sarah Buhl

dissonance. by Sarah Buhl
(Böhme #2)

Genres: New Adult, Contemporary Romance

Many questions wait to be answered...

We cling to what we have always known. Lives, histories, beliefs—all make each of us who we are. Our beliefs define us. But what if we cling to something so tightly we fail to see the truth? What if letting go of those beliefs meant truly loving and finding what it means to be alive?

Blake Lawson has a knight complex. He also believes he failed at it. His friend lived a life of turmoil and he was unable to shield him from it. Blake is a friend to everyone, but only giving just enough—because he hasn’t met someone worth risking failure for again.

Brecken McNett does not believe in happily ever after. She has lived her life depending only on herself, because she is the only person that knows what she needs. She doesn’t believe in screw ups. Brecken has seen too much failure and broken promises to believe in anything other than living fully day by day.

This is the story of two people finding answers—together.

Oh my word. You guys, Sarah Buhl just gets it. The Böhme Series is the epitome of original and breathtaking romance. I was unsure how she would handle writing dissonance., a follow-up to penance. But she exceeded all of my expectations and absolutely blew my mind. dissonance. is what I've been waiting for.

This book moved at such an organic and fluid pace that I was swept away by it's prose. The author writes with such detail and attention that you can't help but feel the story leap off of the pages and capture your heart. There is so much attention paid to all of the characters that I felt like I was friends with them all. I already miss them and their stories.

Romance fans need to look no further than Sarah Buhl. With both penance. and dissonance., she's proved that romance can be found without all of the baggage that usually overwhelms the New Adult genre. This is such a beautiful story. I can only hope that others will take the time to discover this hidden gem and enjoy it as much as I have.

**I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review with no compensation.
